Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah series is based on well known comic column "Dinuiya Ne Undha Chasma" written by Gujarati writer Tarak Mehta. A character in the series is also named Tarak Mehta (which is played by Sailesh Lodha) who is portrayed as the wisest of all. Basically the series revolves around people of "Gokuldham Cooperative society" and happenings in their lives. The main centric characters are Jethalal Gadha, his wife Daya Ben, father Champaklal and son Tapu. Jethalal gets strangled in troubles every now and then and he calls Tarak Mehta for help to get out of that problem.
